Technique
My goal is to bring the techniques of painting to lampwork glass. The concept is simple: To make a painting out of a strand of glass beads.
My primary focus is on the color and energy I find in a landscape. I intensify my colors to more closely resemble the brilliancy of glass blowing colors. My glass beads are the result of a stylized landscape, reimagined by fire.
The result is a "glass painting."
Glass is both ancient and eternal. Unlike a painting that will decompose in time, glass will last for a million years.
I choose to work with colors and textures found in the natural world. Nature always reflects the truth.
Glass is the perfect medium to capture the vibrancy and color of nature.
My glass beadmaking is an ancient art reimagined for today's world.
