Paul Spencer invites you to a one hour demonstration to discover the art of glass flameworking and learn some of the techniques he has developed during his 20 years as a glass artist.

Glass flameworking (also called lampworking) uses a gas “torch” flame to melt and shape glass. Once the glass is sufficiently heated to a molten state, it is shaped with tools and hand movements. Generally, flameworking requires fewer tools and materials and a smaller workspace than other glass techniques. Flameworking has enjoyed thousands of years of history across many continents, cultures and skill sets and can be used to create anything from beads to small hollow vessels.

Paul Spencer (who also refers to himself as "Paul Bead") focuses on bringing the techniques of painting to lampwork glass, by creating "paintings" out of glass beads. These beads can be worn as ornamental artisan jewelry or be used for spiritual and meditation purposes.
